Argentina is a country that surprises you at every turn. It’s a place of diversity, contrasts, and ever-changing landscapes, where traveling isn’t just about moving from one destination to another, it’s about constantly discovering something new. From the towering Andes and the unforgettable trails of El Chaltén to the vineyards of Mendoza, the vibrant spirit of Buenos Aires, and the natural wonder of Iguazú, every region offers a different experience.
In Patagonia, glaciers crack and shimmer beneath vast southern skies, while in the north, colorful mountains, salt flats, and deserts tell ancient stories. Across the pampas, traditional estancias keep centuries-old customs alive, and in the northeast, the lush rainforest surrounds you with deep green wilderness and rich biodiversity.

Whether you’re looking for adventure, gastronomy, wildlife, culture, or simply breathtaking scenery, every itinerary is thoughtfully designed to feel seamless, personal, and inspiring. Some of the best hiking and outdoor adventures in South America
Argentina offers a journey unlike any other. From the мощ roar of Iguazú Falls to the silence of Patagonian glaciers, every region reveals a new landscape and experience. Whether you're planning a short getaway or an extended adventure, Argentina is a destination that truly has it all.
Due to its vast size, flying is often the most efficient way to travel between major regions such as Buenos Aires, Patagonia, and Iguazú, especially if you want to make the most of your time. Long-distance buses are another excellent option, offering comfortable seats, overnight services, and good connections across the country at a more affordable price. For shorter distances, renting a car can provide flexibility and access to remote areas, particularly in regions like the northwest or wine country. Private transfers and guided services are ideal for tailor-made trips, ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience. In major cities, taxis, ride-sharing apps, and public transport make it easy to get around efficiently.
The best time to visit Argentina depends on the region.
Patagonia: October to April (spring and summer)
Buenos Aires & central regions: year-round
Northwest & Iguazú Falls: March to November for milder weather
Because Argentina spans many climates, it’s possible to travel year-round with the right itinerary.
Many travelers, including those from the US, UK, EU, Canada, and Australia, do not need a visa for stays up to 90 days. However, entry requirements may change, so it’s always recommended to check official sources before traveling.
Argentina is generally safe for travelers, especially in major tourist areas. As in any destination, it’s important to take common-sense precautions, such as avoiding poorly lit areas at night and keeping an eye on personal belongings in busy places.
Some of the top destinations include:
Buenos Aires (culture, food, nightlife)
Patagonia (glaciers, trekking, nature)
Iguazú Falls (one of the world’s largest waterfall systems)
Mendoza (wine region)
Salta & Jujuy (colorful mountains and cultural heritage)
Península Valdés (wildlife watching, including whales, penguins, and sea lions)
San Carlos de Bariloche & the Lake District (alpine landscapes, lakes, forests, and outdoor activities)
Each region offers a completely different landscape and experience, making Argentina an incredibly diverse destination to explore.
English is commonly spoken in hotels, tourist services, and major cities like Buenos Aires. However, Spanish is the official language, and knowing a few basic phrases can enhance your experience.
A tailor-made itinerary allows you to optimize travel time, combine multiple regions efficiently, and focus on what truly interests you—whether that’s adventure, culture, food, or relaxation—while enjoying a seamless and personalized experience.
The official currency is the Argentine Peso (ARS). Credit cards are widely accepted in major cities and tourist areas, but it’s still recommended to carry some cash, especially when traveling to smaller towns or remote regions. In popular destinations, US dollars are often accepted or there are exchange services available to convert foreign currency into pesos, making it relatively easy for travelers to manage payments during their trip.
Argentine cuisine is flavorful and deeply rooted in tradition, with a strong focus on high-quality ingredients. The country is especially known for its exceptional beef, often enjoyed as asado (barbecue), a key social and culinary experience. Popular dishes like empanadas are found throughout the country, while fresh pasta reflects Argentina’s European influence.
Regional flavors add variety, from hearty dishes in Patagonia to Andean specialties in the north. Argentina is also famous for its wine, particularly Malbec from Mendoza, and sweet treats like dulce de leche, a staple in many desserts.

Maria and her team looked after us so well. I would recommend them in a flash. It was 20 years since I had been to El Calafate so I didn't know what to expect. It had changed so much! Maria was helpful, honest, well priced and a pleasure to work with. You could not ask for more. We had the best time thanks to Maria and her organisation. Fernando was our driver to a tour and a delight. Punctual, knowledgeable and all round wonderful. Gracias!!

Southwind from the planning stages to delivery of the trip in Patagonia were faultless and I really love the little reminders sent for each separate stage and really appreciated the added bits around passport checking and border crossing paperwork. The whole team was super friendly, and for our trip with Fernando he was great company and knew where to stop for refreshments and a view! We would strongly recommend southwind, they go the extra mile on service and have a permanent smile. Thank you guys you were faultless
