Itinerary
Take your flight to El Calafate Airport where the local driver will be waiting for you to take you to El Chalten. While in the way you will enjoy the Patagonian Steppe landscape with its lakes, rivers and native fauna like the guanacos. A few kilometers before reaching the town you will begin to see the impressive mountain peaks that enclose this charming place. Once you arrive you can enjoy the rest of the day walking around the downtown.
This is the most iconic trek in the area, offering spectacular views of the Fitz Roy massif. After breakfast you take the bus to Rio Electrico to begin our hike through Lengas and Ñires forests along the Río Blanco. You’ll stop at a viewpoint overlooking the Piedras Blancas Glacier, then continue to Camps Poincenot and Río Blanco.
From there, those who wish can climb to the Mirador Laguna de los Tres, a challenging one-hour ascent with a 420-meter elevation gain. At the top, enjoy stunning views of Mount Fitz Roy, Laguna de los Tres, its surrounding glaciers, and nearby Laguna Sucia. Finally return to El Chaltén via the Laguna Capri trail.

Cerro Torre trail runs along beech forest, bogs and shrubland and leads to Laguna Torre, enclosed by moraines and with Grande Glaciers calving in its west side. The Laguna Torre Trail is one of the main trekkings of El Chaltén. The trekking starts from the village from where we will begin our walk accompanied by your National Park Guide. This is a quiet walk of approximately 7 hours round-trip, with a slight slope in the first minutes, you will walk following the course of River Fitz Roy. During the way you can see majestic panoramic views. Stops will be made according to the climatic conditions and interests of the participants.
Hiking: 13 miles (7 hours), 1,950’ cumulative elevation gain.
This full-day hike on the Loma del Pliegue Tumbado trail offers one of the best panoramic viewpoints in Los Glaciares National Park. From the summit, enjoy a 360° view of the Fitz Roy, Torre, and Toro valleys, Lake Viedma, the Patagonian steppe, and the Southern Ice Field.
The trail climbs steadily from El Chaltén through steppe and forest, crossing streams and Ñires and Lengas groves. After an hour, reach the first viewpoint with stunning views of the Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy massifs. As you ascend, the wind intensifies, and you eventually reach the summit cone. After soaking in the incredible views, return to El Chaltén in the afternoon for the transfer to El Calafate.

In the morning, enjoy the Todo Glaciares navigation to the Spegazzini and Upsala Glaciers, departing from Puerto Punta Bandera. After a warm welcome at the terminal, board a modern, comfortable vessel and sail through the Spegazzini Channel. Disembark at Spegazzini Base to explore its panoramic shelter and, optionally, enjoy regional cuisine.
You’ll witness stunning views of Glaciers Heim Sur, Peineta, and the towering Spegazzini Glacier, over 120 meters tall. The journey continues to Dry Glacier and into the Upsala Channel, navigating among massive floating icebergs.
Later, visit Perito Moreno Glacier in Los Glaciares National Park, with a scenic drive through forested terrain and time at the panoramic balconies.

To start this journey, travelers will need to fly into El Calafate Airport (FTE), located just outside El Calafate City. This airport receives domestic flights from Buenos Aires (Aeroparque Jorge Newbery – AEP) and international connections via Buenos Aires Ezeiza (EZE).
Arrival Flight: Traveler flies from origin city to Buenos Aires Ezeiza (EZE) or Aeroparque (AEP), then connects with a domestic flight to El Calafate (FTE).
Departure Flight: At the end of the itinerary, travelers will take a domestic flight from El Calafate (FTE) back to Buenos Aires (EZE/AEP) for onward international connections.
