A fabulous company to travel with: the sequencing of the trip, the guides proposed, the suggestions for the area. We highly recommend this travel agency for Patagonia. Fernando is top+top.
At the southernmost tip of South America lies Ushuaia, often known as the world’s southernmost city and the gateway to the wild landscapes of Tierra del Fuego. Here, the Andes Mountains meet the sea, ancient forests cover the hillsides, and the scenery feels remote and untouched.
Ushuaia is a place where nature takes center stage. You can cruise along the Beagle Channel, hike through glacial valleys and coastal trails in Tierra del Fuego National Park, or simply take in the dramatic views at the edge of the continent. Wildlife encounters, penguin colonies, rugged mountains, and wide open landscapes make this region one of the most unique destinations in Patagonia.
Whether you're looking for adventure or simply want to experience the quiet beauty of the far south, Ushuaia offers a truly memorable journey. We’re locals, and we love helping travelers discover the best of Argentina. Let us help you explore the remarkable landscapes at the end of the world.

Ushuaia is located in Tierra del Fuego Province in southern Argentina, at the southern tip of South America. Often called the “End of the World,” the city sits between the Beagle Channel and the Andes Mountains, making it one of the most unique destinations in Patagonia.
Ushuaia is famous for being considered the southernmost city in the world and for its dramatic landscapes of mountains, forests, and sea. It is also known as the main gateway to Tierra del Fuego National Park, the Beagle Channel, and many Antarctic cruises.
The best time to visit Ushuaia is from October to April, during Patagonia’s spring and summer months. These seasons offer longer daylight hours and better conditions for hiking, wildlife viewing, and boat excursions.
Most travelers spend two to three days in Ushuaia. This allows time to visit Tierra del Fuego National Park, take a boat trip along the Beagle Channel, and explore the surrounding mountains and viewpoints.
Some of the most popular activities include: visiting Tierra del Fuego National Park, riding the historic End of the World Train, taking a Beagle Channel boat tour to see sea lions and islands, hiking to scenic viewpoints and glaciers, Visiting the Ushuaia Maritime Museum.
Yes. Between October and March, visitors can take boat excursions to Martillo Island, where colonies of Magellanic and gentoo penguins live. These tours are one of the most popular wildlife experiences in the region.
Yes. Ushuaia is the main departure point for Antarctic cruises. Most expeditions to Antarctica leave from the city’s port and cross the Drake Passage to reach the Antarctic Peninsula.
The easiest way to reach Ushuaia is by flying into Malvinas Argentinas International Airport (USH). There are regular flights from Buenos Aires and connections from other major Argentine cities.
The region is home to diverse wildlife, including penguins, sea lions, dolphins, seabirds, foxes, and occasionally beavers in the forests and rivers of Tierra del Fuego.
The weather in southern Patagonia can change quickly, so travelers should bring warm layers, a waterproof jacket, comfortable hiking shoes, gloves, a hat, and sunglasses. Even during summer, temperatures can be cool and windy.

Maria and her team looked after us so well. I would recommend them in a flash. It was 20 years since I had been to El Calafate so I didn't know what to expect. It had changed so much! Maria was helpful, honest, well priced and a pleasure to work with. You could not ask for more. We had the best time thanks to Maria and her organisation. Fernando was our driver to a tour and a delight. Punctual, knowledgeable and all round wonderful. Gracias!!

Southwind from the planning stages to delivery of the trip in Patagonia were faultless and I really love the little reminders sent for each separate stage and really appreciated the added bits around passport checking and border crossing paperwork. The whole team was super friendly, and for our trip with Fernando he was great company and knew where to stop for refreshments and a view! We would strongly recommend southwind, they go the extra mile on service and have a permanent smile. Thank you guys you were faultless
