Itinerary
Arrive in Ushuaia, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and the Beagle Channel. After airport transfer and hotel check-in, begin a guided city tour covering the main viewpoints, harbor area, and historic streets of the city. Visit the Museo del Presidio, a former prison that now serves as a cultural landmark explaining the origins of Ushuaia and early Antarctic expeditions. The day ends with a relaxed evening, ideal for enjoying local seafood or walking along the waterfront at sunset.
Travel along scenic coastal roads to Estancia Harberton, the oldest ranch in the region and a key historical site in Tierra del Fuego. Here, you’ll learn about early settlers and the unique natural environment of the southernmost landscapes. Continue by boat to nearby islands to observe Magellanic penguins in their natural habitat. Along the way, it is common to see sea lions, cormorants, and other Patagonian wildlife, making this a full immersion into the region’s ecosystem.
Explore Tierra del Fuego National Park, one of Argentina’s most important protected natural areas. The day combines moderate trekking through lenga forests and guided interpretation of native flora and fauna. Later, enjoy a canoe experience along calm rivers and coastal channels, surrounded by mountains and pristine wilderness. This combination of land and water exploration offers one of the most complete nature experiences in Patagonia.
Begin the day with a hike to Laguna Esmeralda, one of Ushuaia’s most iconic natural attractions. The trail crosses peat bogs, forests, and valleys until reaching a vivid turquoise lagoon fed by glacial meltwater, surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery. In the afternoon, sail through the Beagle Channel, a legendary maritime route rich in wildlife. Expect sightings of sea lions, seabirds, and the famous Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse, often referred to as the “Lighthouse at the End of the World.”
Experience a breathtaking helicopter flight over Peninsula Mitre, one of the most remote and untouched areas of Tierra del Fuego. From the air, you’ll see rugged coastlines, endless forests, and dramatic ocean views rarely accessed by travelers. The afternoon continues with a 4x4 expedition through the hidden lakes region. This off-road journey takes you through mountain passes, alpine lakes, and remote valleys, offering a deeper look into Patagonia’s wild and isolated interior.
Transfer to Ushuaia airport for your departure flight. Depending on schedule, enjoy a final moment by the Beagle Channel or a relaxed breakfast overlooking the surrounding mountains before concluding your journey.
