Itinerary
Take your flight to El Calafate Airport where the local driver will be waiting for you to take you to El Chalten. While in the way you will enjoy the Patagonian Steppe landscape with its lakes, rivers and native fauna like the guanacos. A few kilometers before reaching the town you will begin to see the impressive mountain peaks that enclose this charming place. If your flight arrive early we can reach the Los Condores lookout in a around 30 minutes walk from the town. The view from there is simply terrific!
On the second day of the Patagonia Photo Tour we leave before the breakfast to morning photography session near Laguna Capri. The path begins in the village. During the first hour of walking, the slope is quite steep until you reach the natural viewpoint of the De las Vueltas river valley. Then you will enter into the Lengas and Ñires forest and the slope is less stepp for approximately two hours untill you reach the Laguna Capri. From the lagoon you will have a unique view of the Fitz Roy massif and its surrounded needles, a place that invites you to stay and one of the classic postcards of El Chaltén. You will have plenty of time in Laguna Capri and the hidden waterfalls in the surrounding area.
This evening we can carry out an optional sunset photo session in one of panoramic viewpoints of Fitz Roy massif.
On the third day of the Patagonia Photo Tour after the breakfast we move by bus up to de De Las Vueltas River canyon to start the morning photography session . We have to walk around 30 minutes from the bus park area, to reach the location in the canyon. After sunrise photo shooting we will take the transfer from El Chalten to El Calafate while you enjoy the spectacular Patagonian landscape. Once in El Calafate you will have the afternoon free to enjoy the city by your own.
Located on the shore of Lake Argentino, in the middle of the Patagonian Steppe, El Calafate is one of the most important tourist centers in Argentina, because this picturesque tourist village is the gateway to the Southern Section of Los Glaciares National Park and its most famous attraction, the Perito Moreno Glacier.
Go to visit one of the World’s Natural Wonder, the Perito Moreno Glacier which flows down from the Southern Patagonian Icefield, is the third largest glacier area over the world. The road leads to the very front of the glacier, which will be only meters away from your eyes which allows us to catch shots of giant blocks of ice calving off the glacier. The private guide will accompany you during your visit to the national park and the tour is flexible so you can make stops, suggestions to the guide, and detours according to your interests. Once back in El Calafate you will came back to the hotel to enjoy a typical Patagonian dinner.
On 6th day of our Patagonia Photo Tour we leave early in the morning to our next destination, Torres del Paine. We will cross the border into Chile, enjoying the Patagonian Steppe scenery during our journey. After crossing the border we will make a stop to have lunch in a restaurant and we continue traveling to reach the Torres del Paine National Park entrance. We will often stop along the way for photography and wildlife observation; we will have opportunities to take pictures of local fauna like Andean Condors, Guanacos, Patagonian Foxes, Armadillos and Patagonian Skunks while enjoying our first views of the Paine massif. Once in the hotel we can relax and enjoy a pataginian dinner .
We leave early in the morning for sunrise photoshooting. Today we will explore the central area of the National Park to take pictures from the Pehoe Lake, with an optional 1.30 hours hike to Mirador Condor with a stunning 360-view of The Horns, Paine Towers, Lake Pehoe and Grey Glacier . This evening we will have again an optional photo outing from Explora Hotel to catch some shots of a panoramic view of the Paine Massif and Lake Pehoe.
Today we will start early again in order to photograph the Horns with the first light of day. From the park area in Salto Grande we will take a 1.30 hour hike to the photoshooting location. We’ll have plenty of opportunities to take pictures of amazing sunrise and sunsets of dramatic scens, dyed on red tones with lenticular clouds moving fast between the peaks. For sunset photoshooting we will go to the Lake Nordenskjöld, to take pictures of a diferent view the Horns.
On our 9th day of our Patagonia Photo Tour we will leave early to take a boat ride to Grey Glacier. The navigation takes around 3 hours, crossing the icy waters towards the majestic Grey Glacier. During the firt part of the ride we will see the enormous icebergs dragged by the wind anchored in the southern shore of the lake. We will arrive to the the impressive and actively calving front of the Glacier, where we will have plenty oportunities to take panoramic photos. We will appreciate the cracks in the surface of the glacier ice and its varied range of colors from whitish to deep blue. For sunset photoshooting we will have an optional outing.
The last day in our Patagonia Photo Tour, after breakfast, we will take the transfer to Punta Arenas to take you flight back home or to your next destination.

To start this journey, travelers will need to fly into El Calafate International Airport (FTE). This airport receives domestic flights from Buenos Aires (Aeroparque Jorge Newbery – AEP) and international connections via Buenos Aires Ezeiza (EZE).
Arrival Flight: Traveler flies from origin city to Buenos Aires Ezeiza (EZE) or Aeroparque (AEP), then connects with a domestic flight to El Calafate (FTE).
Departure Flight: At the end of the itinerary, travelers will take a domestic flight from Punta Arenas Airport (PUQ) to Santiago de Chile (SCL) for onward international connections.
