Itinerary

Day 1

Your local naturalist guide meets you directly at the gate of Posadas airport for a private transfer into the Iberá Wetlands. Check in at your eco-lodge inside the reserve, with the marshland's wildlife often visible from the property by evening.

Day 2

Your local private naturalist guide leads a full-day boat safari through Iberá's lagoons, spotting caimans, capybaras, and marsh deer at close range. After dark, a guided nocturnal walk uses red-filtered spotlights, which don't disturb wildlife the way white light does, to track foxes, owls, and other species that stay hidden during the day.

Day 3

The pace today is set by you, on a walking safari through the reserve's transition forests. Your guide covers the rewilding project that has restored Iberá's wildlife populations over the past two decades — including the reintroduction of jaguars, locally extinct in the area for roughly 70 years before the project began.

Day 4

Your private driver meets you at the lodge for the overland transfer from Iberá to Puerto Iguazú, through rural Corrientes and Misiones provinces. Check in at your rainforest hotel, with the rest of the day free.

Day 5

Your private guide times today's route through the Argentine side of Iguazú Falls for the hours when cruise-ship tour groups are typically absent, including the Devil's Throat catwalks. The Iguazú system is made up of roughly 275 individual waterfalls, and the Argentine side's Upper and Lower Circuits put you within reach of most of them before the main event: the 150-meter U-shaped Devil's Throat itself.

Day 6

The grand perspective. Cross the border effortlessly as your private guide handles all international customs and checkpoint procedures. Witness the breathtaking, panoramic sweep of Iguazu from the Brazilian trails, offering a completely different scale of the canyons. Following this visual spectacle, your driver transfers you directly to the airport terminal, ensuring a smooth, stress-free departure for your next regional connection.

Day 7

This connection covers roughly 2,800 kilometers, from the subtropical north to the Atlantic Patagonian coast, routed through Buenos Aires to Trelew, with a private transfer on to Puerto Madryn. No scheduled activity; check in on arrival.

Day 8

Marine naturalist guides read whale behavior to position the boat for close approaches inside the UNESCO World Heritage sanctuary of Península Valdés, during Southern Right Whale season. Unlike most whale-watching destinations, where sightings happen along migration routes, Valdés is one of the few places where whales come close to shore specifically to nurse and raise their calves in sheltered, shallow water — which is why encounters here tend to be closer and longer than elsewhere.

Day 9

The remote cliffs of Punta Norte are where orcas occasionally beach themselves briefly to hunt seal pups during specific tidal windows — a behavior documented at only a handful of locations worldwide. Your guide times the visit around the tides, with a field picnic included.

Day 10

Calm waters and curious wild sea lions make Golfo Nuevo a low-impact kayaking morning, with your guide setting the route. In the afternoon, Punta Tombo, home to one of the continent's largest Magellanic penguin colonies — up to a million birds during peak breeding season, with marked trails that let them nest undisturbed right alongside visitors.

Day 11

Your private driver handles the transfer to Trelew Airport for your flight back to Buenos Aires and onward international connections.

To start this journey, travelers will need to fly into Posadas Airport Aeropuerto general José de San Martín (PSS), located just outside Posadas City. This airport receives domestic flights from Buenos Aires (Aeroparque Jorge Newbery – AEP).

  • Arrival Flight: Traveler flies from origin city to Buenos Aires Ezeiza (EZE) or Aeroparque (AEP), then connects with a domestic flight to Posadas Airport (PSS).

  • Domestic Flight: Travelers flies from Iguazu (IGR) back to Buenos Aires (AEP) for onward connections to Trelew (REL).

  • Departure Flight: At the end of the itinerary, travelers will take a domestic flight from Trelew (REL) back to Buenos Aires (EZE/AEP) for onward international connections.
