Itinerary

Day 1

A flight to El Calafate Airport (FTE) and a private transfer across the Patagonian steppe to El Chaltén. If your flight arrives early, your guide takes you to the Mirador Los Cóndores — a 30-minute walk from the village center with a first view of the Fitz Roy massif, often used for late-afternoon reconnaissance before the main shooting days.

Day 2

A pre-dawn departure for the Laguna Capri trail, reaching the lagoon before the first alpenglow on Fitz Roy and its surrounding needles. Your guide sets pace to arrive with time to set up before the light hits. The session runs through mid-morning. The option for a late-afternoon sunset session from one of the village's panoramic viewpoints over the Fitz Roy massif.

Day 3

A private transfer to the De Las Vueltas River canyon starting point, followed by a 30-minute walk into the canyon for a morning shooting session — a location less used than the main Fitz Roy trails, with river reflections and forested canyon walls as the main subjects. After the session, a private transfer from El Chaltén to El Calafate with afternoon free in town.

Day 4

An afternoon free in El Calafate to visit the lake shore viewpoints, scout the light over Lake Argentino, and prepare for the glacier day ahead. Flamingos and other waterbirds on the lake edges are a regular subject from the town's coastal walk.

Day 5

A private guide accompanies you through the Perito Moreno walkway system for a full shooting day — positioning for calving sequences, close-up ice texture from the elevated platforms, and wide-angle views of the full 70-meter face. The guide manages position around the walkway's crowd movement throughout the day.

Day 6

An early departure from El Calafate crossing into Torres del Paine National Park. Multiple stops along the steppe and at the Cerro Castillo border crossing for fauna photography — guanacos, condors, Patagonian foxes, armadillos, and lesser rheas are common subjects along this route. Arrival at the park with views of the Paine massif from the Amarga entrance.

Day 7

A pre-dawn session at Lake Pehoé for blue hour compositions of the Horns and Towers reflected in the water. After sunrise, a 1.5-hour hike to Mirador Condor for a 360-degree view over Paine Towers, Lake Pehoé, and Grey Glacier. An optional evening outing for the Paine Massif at last light.

Day 8

An early hike from Salto Grande to the viewpoint above the Paine Horns for first light compositions — the most dramatic alpenglow in the park when lenticular clouds are present. The afternoon session moves to Lake Nordenskjöld for a different angle on the Horns, with the lake's shoreline in the foreground at sunset.

Day 9

An early boat departure across Grey Lake toward Grey Glacier, part of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field — approximately three hours of navigation through iceberg fields to the glacier front. The first section of the ride passes icebergs anchored by wind on the southern shore; the approach to the glacier face offers panoramic views and close-up ice texture shooting opportunities. An optional late-afternoon session on return.

Day 10

After breakfast, a private transfer from your Torres del Paine lodge to Punta Arenas Airport (PUQ) for your flight to Santiago and onward international connections.

To start this journey, travelers will need to fly into El Calafate International Airport (FTE). This airport receives domestic flights from Buenos Aires (Aeroparque Jorge Newbery – AEP) and international connections via Buenos Aires Ezeiza (EZE).
