Southwind Experience was born from a simple belief: a destination cannot be experienced through pre-designed packages. It must be lived, felt, and thoughtfully crafted around each traveler. For nearly two decades, we have lived and worked in Patagonia, exploring its remote corners and building close relationships with the people behind each experience. This is our home. We are constantly traveling across Argentina and Chile, discovering new routes, refining connections, and curating experiences that truly stand out. We personally know the hotels, guides, and partners we work with, trusted relationships built over time that allow us to design journeys with authenticity and care. Discover who we are.

I grew up surrounded by nature in a rural town in Buenos Aires, where my love for exploration and the outdoors first began. That passion led me to study Tourism and build a career creating meaningful travel experiences.

After several years exploring and traveling through other destinations, I arrived in Patagonia 17 years ago with my partner, Fernando, and what was meant to be a stop became our home. Patagonia’s raw beauty, vast landscapes, and unique spirit changed everything for me. I fell in love with its wild beauty, its silence, and its vastness.

That feeling we shared led us to create Southwind Experience, with the purpose of helping travelers experience each destination in a deeper, more personal way. We don’t just plan trips, we design tailor-made journeys that connect you with the true essence of a destination, the same feeling that captured us and made us stay.

I’ve always been driven by curiosity and a passion for travel, exploring new places from a young age. That path led me to study Tourism and, eventually, to work in Patagonia. What was meant to be a single work season turned into nearly two decades.

Along the way, I met Laura, and together we built not only a life, but a shared vision. Patagonia shaped the way we understand travel: as something deeper than visiting places, as a way to truly connect with landscapes, cultures, and people.

Our project was born from that vision. As founders, we personally design tailor-made journeys that reflect how we experience this region ourselves, authentic, meaningful, and crafted around each traveler. More than trips, we create experiences that stay with you long after you leave.

Maria and her team looked after us so well. I would recommend them in a flash. It was 20 years since I had been to El Calafate so I didn't know what to expect. It had changed so much! Maria was helpful, honest, well priced and a pleasure to work with. You could not ask for more. We had the best time thanks to Maria and her organisation. Southwind from the planning stages to delivery of the trip in Patagonia were faultless and I really love the little reminders sent for each separate stage and really appreciated the added bits around passport checking and border crossing paperwork. The whole team was super friendly, and for our trip with Fernando he was great company and knew where to stop for refreshments and a view! I had a great experience with Southwind. They organized a tour for us to visit Monte Leon from El Calafate. Fernando & Laura organized the logistics and were very helpful. Martin accompanied us on the tour and doubled up as driver and tour guide, which was beyond our expectations. We saw a lot of wildlife en route, as well as in the park with Martin’s help. I highly recommend Southwind for your Patagonia experience.
