Day 1

A domestic flight to Punta Arenas (PUQ) and a private transfer through native Nothofagus forest to Torres del Paine National Park, with stops for guanacos, foxes, and rheas along the steppe. Your specialist guide briefs you at the lodge on puma territory and tracking tactics for the days ahead.

Day 2

An early departure with your specialist tracker to the open pampas around Lake Sarmiento, one of the most reliable areas in Torres del Paine for observing wild pumas. Working from first light, the morning is dedicated to locating fresh tracks and reading animal movement before continuing the search through the surrounding valleys and grasslands.

Day 3

A second full day in the field explores the Laguna Amarga sector, where your tracker draws on years of experience monitoring individual pumas and their territories. Revisiting active areas and adapting the route to recent wildlife activity significantly increases the chances of close encounters, while guanacos, foxes, condors, and other Patagonian wildlife are frequently seen throughout the day.

Day 4

Your final tracking day focuses on the quieter landscapes around Laguna Azul, another renowned habitat for Torres del Paine's puma population. During the southern summer, females with cubs are regularly observed in this sector, while the additional day in the field provides valuable flexibility to revisit areas where wildlife activity has been strongest, maximizing the overall probability of memorable sightings.

Day 5

A final day inside the park exploring the western landscape — a walk from Salto Grande to the Horns Viewpoint, overlooking Lake Nordenskjöld and the Paine Horns. A private transfer back to Punta Arenas in the afternoon.

Day 6

A private vessel departure west across the Magellan Strait into the Francisco Coloane Marine Park — a protected biological corridor and summer feeding ground for humpback whales, occasional orca pods, and Chilean dolphins. Day 7

In the evening, a briefing from resident marine scientists on population studies, photo-identification techniques, and ongoing conservation work in the Coloane reserve.

Day 8

The return navigation past the San Isidro Lighthouse offers additional opportunities for seabirds — albatrosses, petrels, and skuas — before arriving back at the pier in Punta Arenas.

Day 9

A ferry across the Magellan Strait toward the Chilean sector of Tierra del Fuego, with Commerson's dolphins and black-browed albatrosses visible during the crossing. A drive to King Penguin Park on Tierra del Fuego's Atlantic coast, where the only permanent continental colony of King Penguins in the world can be observed at close range — the second-largest penguin species on the planet, present year-round.

Day 10

A morning in El Porvenir with a guided drive through the town's pioneer history and a visit to the alkaline lagoons around Bahía Inútil, where Chilean flamingos gather in the shallows. A scenic coastal drive past historic shipwrecks before the afternoon ferry return to Punta Arenas.

Day 11

A private transfer to Punta Arenas Airport (PUQ) for your domestic flight to Santiago and onward international connections.

To start this journey, travelers will need to fly into Punta Arenas Aeropuerto Internacional Presidente Carlos Ibañez del Campo (PUQ), located just outside Punta Arenas City. This airport receives domestic flights from and international connections via Santiago de Chile (SCL).
